A Petco store in Hawaii is being sued after a distraught owner claims the Petco groomer cut her dog's ear off then attempted to glue it back on.

Grandmother Gladys Kapuwai and Estelle Green filed a lawsuit against the Petco in Kaneohe, Hawaii, claiming that their dogs were injured by negligent groomers.

Kapuwai claims that she took her Pomeranian-Maltese mix, Dodo, to the Petco in Hawaii for a simple grooming visit but when the puppy was returned to her, she saw a piece of her ear was missing. She told the HawaiiNewsNow website: [She] was dried, bloody, was dry blood, everything.

Even worse, the Petco worker attempted to fix the damage done by gluing the piece of the ear back on. I noticed that at home, so when I took her to the vet, the doctor had told me it looked like they tried to glue it back. I couldn't believe what they did. I started crying because this is our baby, too, you know, she said.

Kapuwai said that she wished the Petco employees would have told her what happened. 'Even the doctor said they could have saved her ear if they told me right there, but they didn't.

Green, whose husband Michael Green is representing the two women in the lawsuit, claims that her dog was returned to her from the same Petco in Hawaii with bloody nails and the tip of its tail missing, according to The New York Daily News.

The nails are bleeding because they were cut too short, the dog was filthy and the tip of the dog's tail was cut off, Green told Hawaii News Now. They didn't seem, the people at Petco didn't seem overly concerned about that.

Mr. Green told the Hawaii Star Advertiser, The dog was filthy and the tip of the dog's tail was cut off. My dog, they offered another free grooming. I guess they wanted to take off other body parts.

In a statement, Petco told The Associated Press that they are investigating the case. We can't comment on the specifics at this time, but we can tell you that we have very strong standards and policies in place for the care and treatment of animals in our grooming salon and we provide training on those standards and policies for our grooming associates, the statement said.
