New York Fashion Week Trend Recap: Hats Make a Comeback for Fall 2012 [PHOTOS]
Hat's off to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York! Hats made a huge comeback for Fall 2012 as a trend for both men and women.
Most notably, hats were everywhere at the Marc Jacobs show on Monday, as models donned gats that were giant and furry, straight from the Mayflower or from Alice in Wonderland.
Other designers crowned their models' pates with designs ranging from oversized flops to military-esque designs.
Mara Hoffman and Rachel Roy designed wide-brimmed hats. Joanna Mastroianni and Michael Kors opted for furry Russian-inspired hats. Lacoste, Nicole Miller, Ruffian, Danna Karen, Betsey Johnson and Ralph Lauren went retro with fedoras, Stetson, Gatsby, newsboy, cloche, bowler and top hats. Tracy Reese presented floppy wool baseball/jockey caps and Anna Sui opted for a winter street style chullo hat with ear flaps and embroidery of a face.
