Houston's service was held at the New Hope Baptist church in Newark, N.J. There were performances from singers Bebe and CeCe Winans, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Kim Burrell and R Kelly to name a few.

Costner, who co-starred with Houston in the movie "The Bodyguard," said that Houston was "as beautiful as a woman could be."

"The Whitney I knew, despite her worldwide success, still wondered 'Am I good enough?'" Costner said. "You weren't just good enough. you were great."

Costner said Houston is gone too soon.

"Off you go, Whitney. Off you go escorted by an army of angels to your heavenly father," Costner said. "And when you sing before him, don't worry, you will be good enough."
