Rihanna and Chris Brown have proved to the world that they have moved on by collaborating on two new tracks, three years after he assaulted her.

After weeks of speculation over the ex-lovers being on the verge of a reconciliation, they officially revealed that they have teamed up for remixes of her song Birthday Cake and his track Turn Up the Music.

Despite mounting rumours, the duo remained coy about their budding new friendship until Rihanna shocked fans by releasing their new songs on her 24th birthday.

The former couple, who infamously split in 2009 after Brown assaulted the We Found Love songstress before a pre-Grammy Awards bash, posted both songs on file sharing websites.

Fans were further shocked when the pair publicly contacted each other on Twitter hours after Brown wished Rihanna an intimate happy birthday on the social networking site by addressing her as Robyn, her birth name.

The cheeky Bajan singer asked who wanted some "cake", to which Brown responded: "Cake, cake cake!" before posting a link to their remix of Birthday Cake on ZShare.

What do you make of the new songs?
