Five teenage girls have told a court how 11 men plied them with drugs and alcohol before passing them around for sex.

One teenager told the jury at Liverpool crown court that during a rape by two of the defendants she was "so drunk she was vomiting over the side of the bed".

A 13-year-old girl told how she was forced to have sex several times a day, several days a week and eventually fell pregnant.

She told detectives: "When you've got Asian friends, numbers get passed and they pass it to their friends.

"And they pass it to their friends, ending up with a massive circle...  everyone's got it."

All five girls were from Rochdale, Greater Manchester. The offences were alleged to have occurred between 2008 and 2009.

Prosecuting, Rachel Smith told the jury: "Some of you may find what you are about to hear distressing. The events and circumstances described by the girls are at best saddening and at worst shocking in places.

"No child should be exploited as these girls say they were."

One victim said she had lost count of the number of times she had been raped. She told police that on more than one occasion she had been given alcohol and drugs while being raped.

She said that she remembered being raped and hearing another man saying: "I want a turn, I want a turn."

At this point she threw up over the side of the bed.

"They were just having it in turns," she said. "There was nothing I could do - I was throwing up. I felt like I couldn't move."

"They saw her being sick and each raped her. Afterwards they left and she cried herself to sleep," said Smith.

The court heard that the girls only knew their attackers by nicknames they gave themselves such as "Master" and "Tiger".

The men were charged with plotting to have sex with underage girls. Some face charges of rape.

A 59-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, Kabeer Hassan, 24, Abdul Aziz, 41, Abdul Rauf, 43, Mohammed Sajid, 35, Adil Khan, 42, Abdul Qayyum, 43, Mohammed Amin, 44, Qamar Shahzad, 29, Liaquat Shah, 41, Hamid Safi, 22 deny the charges.

The trial continues.
