The First Dog, Bo Obama, of President Barack Obama starred in the video for the White House's Easter Egg Roll ticket lottery wearing floppy pink and white bunny ears.

Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog owned by the First Family, is seen being cute, as usual, wearing the festive ears, panting and laying an egg.

The White House released the video on Wednesday to promote the upcoming Easter egg lottery, which began on Thursday at 10 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 5. The actual event will take place on April 9.

There will be games, stories, singing, dancing and Easter eggs, the video proclaims.

This year's theme is Let's Go, Let's Play, Let's Move, a direct reference to First lady Michelle Obama's campaign Let's Move to keep children active and healthy and prevent obesity.

Every year, the White House hosts an Easter Egg Roll and this year expects 35,000 visitors, according to the blog post. The 134-year tradition caters to children, ages 13 and under, and is always held on the Monday after Easter.

The tradition dates back to 1878 when children would congregate at Capitol Hill on Easter Monday for a day full of activities. The event was moved to the White House in 1878 when President Hayes offered children to roll eggs in his backyard and the rest is history.

The event has also become a celebrity-favorite, with performances by Willow Smith and Justin Bieber in past years.

Those interested can enter their named in the online lottery free of charge, but only one per household, here at recreation.gov. Participants selected will be notified via email on March 12.

Last year, 200,000 people applied but only 30,000 received tickets, according to ABC.

Those selected can get souvenir eggs in purple, blue, green and orange with the signatures of the President and First Lady. A Bo egg with the First Dog's paw print comes in the 2012 collector set.

The White House is also holding a contest for students to submit a poser design for the Egg Roll in the theme for the year.
