Holley Mangold, the sister to the New York Jets' star center Nick Mangold, made the U.S. Olympics Weightlifting team on Sunday.

The 22-year-old had her eyes set on the 2016 Olympics, but won a spot on the 2012 team after an impressive display during weightlifting qualifying trials in Ohio.

''I came up really quickly,'' Holley Mangold told The Associated Press. ''I've never even been to a World Championship. I knew I had really great competitors I was going against.''

She improved 35 kilos in a year with training with coach Mark Cannella and went from a darkhorse to an Olympian in a short amount of time according to her coach.

The younger Mangold was also recently featured in MTV's True Life: I'm a Big Girl, where she detailed some of the difficulties that come with being a super heavyweight lifter.

Everyone constantly thinks I'm overweight or out of shape but I train twice a day and six days a week, she said. I'm doing this for my sport.

She will represent the United States in August at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, but unfortunately it's likely doubtful that her famous brother will be able to attend. Her competition falls right around the time that the Jets are expected to report to training camp, though it is possible that her brother could get an excused absence.
