Along with the iPhone 5, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 might be the most talked about smartphone release for 2012. The device has been rumored to launch around the same time as its competitor, but the newest speculation may point to an even closer date.

According to TechRadar, the anticipated gadget could surprise fans with an early launch on March 30, at least in the UK. An Oxford Street store in London has an advertisement on the exterior of the shop, displaying the Samsung logo with the words, Coming 30/3/2012.

This is likely to be false as nothing has been confirmed by Samsung or any official source. The phone is expected to launch at the company's event on May 22nd, according to images that leaked last week. The photos of the smartphone revealed the date as its timestamp, which lines up with the Samsung Unpacked event. Could this be the launch ceremony?

A picture of the device also leaked earlier in March, when a slide from a presentation by Weber Shandwick, a PR firm with Samsung as one of their clients, was also revealed on the Web. According to the leaked slide, the gadget is expected to be slim.

A previous theory expected the newest Samsung smartphone to be launched in April. Despite which rumor users decide to follow, a March 30th date is earlier than expected.

On top of that, there are a few already-announced products that would justify a redecoration of the storefront, wrote TechRadar's Chris Smith.

These include the new Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy Note.

But this suggests something bigger, added Smith when referring to the advertisement.

Other rumors about the product suggest that the phone will run on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system with Samsung's TouchWiz overlay.
