Steam just released a beta version of a new patch for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, which is said to fix some of the bugs caused by a previous update. Called 1.5.26, the Bethesda's solution to issues caused by the 1.5 upgrade is available for PCs.

One of the major updates players received after the previous update was the integration of the kill camera on ranged kills and first-person kills. Another strange glitch being addressed is the disappearance of the sun from the sky after fast travelling.

However, when the last patch was released, some PC users experienced their games crashing randomly due to the plug-ins. Gamers should always back up their data before installing patches in order to prevent losing their progress.

One of the biggest complaints was that the glitches prevented players from completing quests, which could disappoint gamers if these issues carry over to upcoming DLC. News leaked last week that there are threw new expansions in the works, and Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax just filed a patent for Dawnguard.

Here's the full list of patch notes for the new beta update:

- Fixed issue with frequency of first person kill cameras

- Underwater effects now display properly

- Fixed crash when loading certain plugins

- Fixed issue where sun would not appear properly after fast travel

It is unclear whether or not these glitches will be completely fixed, but computer gamers will be the first to put the patch to the test. Players running Skyrim on a gaming console will have to wait for these bug fixes, which Sony and Microsoft claim are still being assessed.

Hopefully the release of the patch on the PC should give Bethesda some clues as to what it fixes/breaks, before it's released to the masses who're playing the game on the home consoles, writes Gaming Union's Darryl Kaye.
