Nicki Minaj is the latest singer to delete their Twitter account, but don't believe for a minute that Minaj is leaving the Twitterverse for good.

The Starships superstar, 29, deleted her account because her fan site, NickiDaily.com, leaked her music. But judging by past history of other singers who quit Twitter, the move is only temporary.

NickiDaily is also down at the moment.

Upon deleting her account, Minaj left some harsh parting words following a Twitter war with her fans: Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f------ bye.

Minaj has 30 days to re-active her Twitter handle, @NICKIMINAJ, otherwise the deletion becomes permanent.

A long line of singers have quit Twitter, but they've always came back and re-instated their accounts.

Singer Monica deleted her account in 2010 because of what she contended were fake supporters who had nastily communicated with her through Twitter.

She said her decision was better for the protection of my children, my fiancé and fans.

Yet Monica is back on Twitter, albeit under a different handle, despite her 2010 farewell.

Then there's singer-actress Miley Cyrus, who deleted her twitter account back in 2009 because of boyfriend and Thor star Liam Hemsworth, according to People.com.

FYI Liam doesn't have a Twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason, was Miley's last tweet before the deletion.

Surprise! Miley came back and is tweeting up a storm.

After previous threats of deleting her twitter account, Demi Lovato went through with the threats and said goodbye to the micro-blogging site in October 2010.

Had you searched for her page at the time, it would have said it no longer exists, according to disneydreaming.com.

If you search Twitter now, you'll see Demi is alive and well in the Twitterverse, tweeting under the handle @ddlovato promoting her album, Unbroken.

John Mayer was another musician who had enough of Twitter, deleting his account in September 2010.

Mayer said he preferred communicated with fans through Tumblr.

I think I made the right choice, Mayer said at the time, CBS News reported. I now have an even larger Tumblr addiction, but it's sort of like a book addiction, or a gambling addiction, where you always walk away with the casino's money.

Apparently Mayer eventually thought he made the wrong choice, as the Your Body Is A Wonderland singer tweets under the handle @johncmayer.

Like Minaj, singer LeAnn Rimes quit Twitter over her fans in July 2010.

In Rimes' case, she couldn't take their negativity after she posted a photo of her making out with then-boyfriend Eddie Cibrian as her young children sat close to the couple, CNN reported at the time.

It's unhealthy for me and my family to have to read negative comments from people who's opinions have no bearing on my life, she tweeted the next day. I love my fans so very much and will return one day soon.

Rimes did return to Twitter. You can check out her tweets under the handle @leannrimes.

Minaj may say she's done with Twitter, but her anger will blow over and we'll see the Super Bass singer back on the site again.
