Greta Van Susteren, a Fox News Channel personality and good friend of Sarah Palin, has an interesting date for the White House Correspondents' Dinner: Lindsay Lohan!

The highly-publicized D.C. event is one of the hottest social events in D.C., where journalists and public figures mingle with politicians (including the president), and it won't be the first time Greta's taken a somewhat less than pristine celebrity with her. Last year, Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner were her dates. And in fact, Kim Kardashian won't be left out this year – she's going as Fox News's guest, according to Mediaite, and will sit at the same table as Lindsay and Greta.

But Lindsay Lohan will be Greta's official guest, according to a TMZ exclusive report. Greta Van Susteren told TMZ's Harvey Levin, I love comebacks, and I'd like her to succeed, referring to Lindsay Lohan. She's got a new movie and I'm hoping things work out for her. (That new movie would be Liz and Dick, in which Lindsay Lohan will play Elizabeth Taylor in a film about the actress's difficult relationship with actor and two-time ex-husband Richard Burton.)

But don't let the fact that Greta Van Susteren is bringing a washed-up former cocaine addict to the dinner distract you: Greta is very serious about the dinner, and was in fact upset that Louis C.K. would be performing at the event. Comedian? I don't think so. Pig? Yes, Greta posted to her blog. (Louis C.K. eventually pulled out of the event, perhaps based on Greta Van Susteren's criticism.)

Her main beef with Louis C.K. was regarding comments he made about former Alaska governor and vice presidential contender Sarah Palin, with whom Greta Van Susteren is good friends. He uses filthy language about women – yes, the C word – and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States, Van Susteren wrote. It isn't just Governor Palin he denigrates. He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh.

John McCain's thought that was a little odd, and took to Twitter to respond:

Fortunately for Greta, if Lindsay Lohan slips up and gets caught doing a bit of blow at the dinner, she won't be the first – David Cross admitted to snorting cocaine at the Correspondents' Dinner while he was sitting oly 65 feet away from President Obama. It wasn't even that much cocaine, he said. It was literally the size of, I don't know, a tick. It was a tiny granule of coke that I put on my wrist and said, 'What this. I need a witness.' (Then again, would a tiny granule be enough for LiLo?)
