A superb hat-trick from Luis Suarez gave Liverpool a much-needed 3-0 victory over Norwich at Carrow Road.

The win will come as a welcome boost to a Liverpool side that has struggled in the Premier League this season, ahead of the FA Cup final against Chelsea in a week's time.

Suarez had put Liverpool 2-0 up at the break before a magical goal completed his first hat-trick for the club in the final 10 minutes.

The first goal of the contest arrived 24 minuted in. Steven Gerrard stole possession far too easily before bursting forward and touching the ball inside to Suarez who took the ball on before finishing emphatically with his left-foot into the far corner

And Suarez almost returned the favor shortly after. The striker gained a fortunate ricochet from a weak Norwich challenge down the right before laying the ball back to Gerrard whose powerful effort was only prevented from bursting the net by cannoning off Ryan Bennett.

But the home side could not hold out for long. And it was Norwich who were once again the masters of their own downfall as they gave the ball away carelessly in their own half to allow Suarez to break free and drill a low shot into the far corner for his second goal of the match.

It what has become a familiar story this season, Liverpool were prevented from adding to their goal tally at the start of the second-half by the width of a goal post. Stewart Downing, released down the right, cut the ball back for Suarez, whose effort deflected into the air from where it was headed onto the cross bar by Jonjo Shelvey.

The match looked to be fading out to its predictable conclusion when Suarez popped up with a quite stunning goal out of nowhere in the 82nd minute. The Uruguayan front man gained possession just inside the Norwich half before looking up and seeing John Ruddy off his line and hitting a pitch-perfect chip over the stranded keeper and into the back of the net.

It was a perfect way to get his first hat-trick for the club, and after a difficult season is a timely reminder of the talent he has at his disposal.
