Kate Middleton is bound to turn heads whatever she wears, but her latest striking white gown ,slashed to the thigh, made jaws drop at the Thirty Club private Dinner on Tuesday.

The Duchess of Cambridge exhibited her most risqué look to date, as she stepped on the red carpet in glamorous Jimmy Choo stilettos and a figure hugging gown thought to be designed by Roland Mouret .

The 30-year-old accompanied her husband Prince William to a private dinner at the Thirty Club at Claridge's Hotel, E! Online reported.

The dress was a part of Mouret's 2009 collection, according to Now Magazine. While Kate didn't pose her leg as explicitly as Angelina Jolie at the Academy Awards, the dress was reminiscent of Jolie's look and displayed much more of Middleton's leg than the public are used to. Pictures of the dress can be found here.

Prince William followed in the footsteps of his mother and other royal guests, who have been invited to the club as guest speakers.

'The Duke has been invited for around nine years now and thought that it was right to accept the invitation this year because of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. It also seemed rather apt as it his 30th birthday next month,' Royal Palace sources told the Daily Mail.

Kate's decision to adopt a more risqué dress code to the event comes after criticism that she plays it too safe. She is generally known for wearing stylish but plain blacks and nudes to events, with LK Bennett closed shoes.

She just wears too much high street stuff. I know she's trying to be democratic, but I don't know how many pairs of LK Bennett you can wear, one designer told the Daily Mail this week.
