A New Jersey based artist has taken tattooing to a whole new level by implanting four magnets into his wrists that hold an iPod Nano without a strap.

Dave Hurban is a tattoo artist and says the method he used to implant the iPod onto his arm is a technique used typically in body piercing.

Those magnets are actually called micro-dermal anchors, Hurban told Digital Trends, In body piercing they are very common. The tops are actually just 5 millimeter magnetic tops.

To attach the iPod to his skin, Hurban took the end of the magnets and attached them to the end of the iPod, which clicked in place with the magnets implanted into his skin.

The links made by the magnets seem strong as Hurban claims that the iPod does not fall off when he is jogging or working out in the gym, Digital Trends reports.

In a video displaying the process, Hurban looks focused and not in much pain. When Digital Trends asked him about the pain factor he said, It actually wasn't as bad as I thought. It definitely is not the worst piercing I've ever done to myself. I was actually just very determined to do the piercing correctly.

Hurban explained that he wanted to do something that no one else had done before. He calls himself the inventor of the strapless watch.

Even though Apple will likely bring out a new version of the Nano this year, Hurban says the most important thing is that he did this before anyone else. If a new iPod Nano comes out, he does not plan on changing it from the original, according to Digital Trends.
