"The Walking Dead"

Is it October yet? AMC's The Walking Dead may be months away, but thanks to Comic-Con we have a new preview of season three.

The poster, which debuted on Entertainment Weekly, gives viewers another glimpse of the highly anticipated introduction of two new characters - Michonne and The Governor.

Fans of The Walking Dead were introduced to Michonne (Danai Gurira) very briefly in the season two finale when she rescued Andrea from a walker. Donning a hooded cape, Michonne saved Andreas life with a quick whip of her sword. The new poster reveals Michonne in similar attire and wielding a sword with two mouth-less and arm-less walkers behind her.

On the opposite side of the poster is another new character to the TV series, The Governor (David Morrissey). The Governor has his hand outstretched in a helpful way, but readers of the graphic novels know that The Governor is anything but a peaceful and helpful man.

What's interesting about The Governor's appearance on the poster is that behind him is the mysterious helicopter that Rick first spotted in Atlanta, and what later drove the hoard of walkers to the farm.

Dead center on the poster is Rick (Andrew Lincoln) crouched in a fighting position. Rick of course has a swarm of zombies behind him.

The poster boasts that the series will return to life this October on AMC.

The Walking Dead Comic-Con panel will be Friday, July 13 in Hall H. According to IGN, Lincoln, Gurira, Morrissey, Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), showrunner/Executive Producer Glen Mazzara, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, and Co-Executive Producer/Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero will all be in attendance.
