Fans have been eagerly awaiting the full roster for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, and two new characters have been unveiled. As expected, Jak and Daxter from the self-titled series have made it into the game along with Cole McGrath of Infamous.

Despite Infamous being a noteworthy PlayStation 3 exclusive, many predictions and speculations from critics have left Cole McGrath out of the theoretical roster.

Cole McGrath proves to be an unlikely hero with extraordinary powers, so it made perfect sense to us for him to be in the ring alongside some of PlayStation's heaviest hitters, SuperBot Entertainment community manager Daniel Maniago said according to GameZone.

In the announcement trailer, it was revealed that Jak and Daxter will function as a pair of characters controlled by a player. This can be similar to the way Ice Climbers are used in Nintendo's parallel title Super Smash Bros. Jak will be using signature weapons from the series, such as the Gyro Burster and Mass Inverter, as Joystiq acknowledges. Cole McGrath is sure to use some lighting-related moves as his specialty in All-Stars Battle Royale.

Fans have enjoyed Jak and Daxter's signature style and varied gameplay, so we considered them prime candidates for our game, Maniago said. Jak and Daxter are beastly on the Battle Royale battlefield; they've definitely been my go-to pair lately here at the studio!

The revealed characters seem to line up with what fans and critics expected, but there is still yet to be any announcement concerning hallmark PlayStation faces, such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and Lara Croft of Tomb Raider. Other recently announced characters include Heihachi Mishima of the Tekken series and PlayStation mascot Toro. The full confirmed roster is as follows:

- Nathan Drake from Uncharted

- Big Daddy from BioShock

- PaRappa The Rapper

- Fat Princess

- Kratos from God of War

- Sly Cooper

- Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal

- Radec from Killzone

- Toro the PlayStation mascot

- Heihacho Mishima of Tekken

- Jak and Daxter

- Cole McGrath of Infamous

But fans may be getting more than just a couple of names added to the character list. A box art image for the game has been allegedly spotted on Amazon.co.uk. However, the so-called cover of the game only shows six of the announced characters, according to PSX-Sense. These include Kratos, Sly Cooper, PaRappa the Rapper, Sweet Tooth, Fat Princess and Radec.

The current cover art from the US Amazon retailer for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions just show a generic logo with the words: COVER ART NOT FINAL and PACKAGE ART SUBJECT TO CHANGE underneath. This infers that the cover art for the game has not been finalized yet.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be released on Oct. 23 in the United States, Oct. 24 in most of Europe and Oct. 26 in the United Kingdom. Check out the trailers below to see the Jak and Daxter and Cole McGrath announcement.
