American Horror Story Season Two
American Horror Story Season Two FX

With new characters constantly being added to the mysterious second season of American Horror Story it's difficult to keep up! Luckily for you we've been keeping a full record of who will be roaming the halls of the loony bin come October.

As fans of the FX show know, season one's L.A. Murder House will be a thing of the past...and so is the majority of the original cast. While the plot has been kept very hush hush, creator Ryan Murphy has trickled out a couple spoilers here and there to keep fans from going crazy.

Season two of American Horror Story will take place in a horror institution for the criminally insane on the East Coast. The new season will also break out of modern day, being set in the 1960's.

The only thing that season one will have in common with season two is a handful of returning actors. Those returning are Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Zachary Quinto.

New to the series this year is Adam Levine, Lizzie Brochere, James Cromwell, Chris Zylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny, Mark Consuelos and Clea Duvall.

Check out the list below to see descriptions of who the actors will play when American Horror Story returns for its second season this October.

Jessica Lange: This season Lange will play not only the administrator of an East Coast Asylum for the criminally insane, but a nun.

Evan Peters: The role of season one vet Evan Peters has been kept under wraps. But he is reported to be the hero of season two.

Sarah Paulson: Season one actress Sarah Paulson's role is being kept mum, but she is reported to share some scenes with the latest addition to the cast, Clea Duvall.

Lily Rabe: The only thing we know about Lily Rabe's character is that she will play the opposite of who she was in season one.

Zachary Quinto: Just like Rabe, the only news about Zachary Quinto's role is that it will be the opposite of his season one character.

Adam Levine: Maroon 5 singer and Voice judge Adam Levine has been cast as one half of a couple called the lovers. Who is playing his counterpart is currently unknown.

Lizzie Brochere: French actress Lizzie Brochere has been cast as Gia, a patient at the institution for the criminally insane. Gia is described as fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot.

James Cromwell: James Cromwell has been cast as Dr. Arden, an employee at the institution. Dr. Arden will be the boss of Jessica Lange's character, a woman he is reported to constantly butt heads with.

Chris Zylka: Former Secret Circle star Chris Zylka has been cast in season two, but Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuck won't say who the handsome young star will be playing.

Joseph Fiennes: FlashForward star Joseph Fiennes will play not only the head of the institution, but a love interest for Jessica Lange's character.

Chloe Sevigny: Big Love actress Chloe Sevigny has been cast as Shelly, a nymphomaniac who is committed by her husband for liking sex.

Mark Consuelos: Kelly Ripa's husband Mark Consuelos will be a recurring character on season two of American Horror Story. Consuelos is set to play Spivey, a patient at the asylum. No word on why Spivey has been institutionalized.

Clea Duvall: Girl Interrupted actress Clea Duvall is no stranger to asylum's. Duvall's character plot is unknown, but it has been confirmed that she will be sharing some screen time with season one actress Sarah Paulson.

Besides these new and returning actors, information on two more characters have been released but not the actors who will be playing them.

Frank: Frank is the head of the security at the hospital. He reportedly will have a wicked Boston accent.

Mother Superior Claudia: Mother Superior Claudia is the head of the order and the boss of Jessica Lange's character.
