According to the New York Times, strip clubs in Tampa, Florida are more than ready to receive those attending the GOP convention.

The convention, which will begin Aug. 27, will have plenty of strip clubs within walking distance of the Tampa Bay Times Forum (home of Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team), and the economy won't be the only thing stimulated.

According to the Times article, dancers will be stripping out of red, white and blue corsets, and serving red, white and blue vodka at Thee Dollhouse, a local strip club. Also at Thee Dollhouse, a certain dancer passing quite a striking resemblance to Sarah Palin will be performing. One of the co-owners of Thee Dollhouse, Warren Colazzo, had this to say "It's just a really good gimmick to get publicity."

Tampa is known for its strip clubs, as many vacationers and athletes enjoy the benefits they have to offer year-round. The city itself is a beautiful hodge-podge of cultures and people, so the setting is truly a perfect spot for a political gathering. Many businesses are gearing up to welcome the GOP Convention, which promises to be the biggest one ever, according to the Times.

The city also is home to three successful sports teams, the aforementioned Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The city has seen its fair share of championships and near-World Series victories in recent years, and is also home to the Grapefruit League, Major League Baseball's Spring Training, where the New York Yankees make Tampa their southern home.

James Davis, spokesman for the Republican National Convention ignored comments regarding Tampa's strip clubs stating "We're focused completely on having a great convention."
