"The Vampire Diaries" Season 3
"The Vampire Diaries" will see some blood shed at the end of season 3. CW

"The Vampire Diaries" will waste no time is bringing some shocking drama when the CW series returns on Thursday, Oct. 11. Executive Producer Julie Plec revealed that the premiere will feature a "powerful, surprising death sequence."

Mystic Falls has some serious problems on their hands when season four kicks off. While the major shocker in the season three finale was that Elena will be transitioning into a vampire this season, fans may have forgot that evil Alaric told the whole council that the town was overflowing with vampires...and Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood knew about it!

"When Alaric Saltzman told the council that the town was filled with vampires, [he] told a lot of details about a lot of people that in the first episode back we'll see have created a little bit of a domino effect," Plec teased to Entertainment Weekly. It was then that the executive producer revealed a "powerful, surprising death sequence."

No character is safe on a show with vampires roaming around, and the "Vampire Diaries" has proved that in the past by killing off original vampires, high school students and relatives. The latest death might hit closer to home, but Plec won't spill the blood on who exactly will be kicking the bucket.

Since the council is on a vampire hunt, it's easy to assume that the council will be taking out an eternal resident. While the list of vampires in the town is continuing to climb, it's possible that the victim involved in the "surprising death sequence" could be a human. It wouldn't be the first time that a council member accidentally took out a human by accident (remember that's how Jeremy started seeing ghosts after being brought back to life by Bonnie).

It's already been leaked that the premiere will feature a short lived newcomer, Pastor Young. While we know that Pastor Young won't live past the first episode after kidnapping Damon, we find it hard to believe that this is the "powerful, surprising death sequence," that Plec is talking about.

Our theories on the impending death of a Mystic Falls resident? Bonnie's mom, Rebekah, Mrs. Lockwood or Sheriff Forbes.

Who do you think will be involved in the "powerful, surprising death sequence" in season four of "The Vampire Diaries?"
