Jennifer Lawrence, star of "The Hunger Games" is set to earn $10 million for the sequel, entitled "Catching Fire," according to MSN. "The Hunger Games" grossed over $680 million worldwide at the box office when it released back in March, and a sequel was greenlit immediately, as there are further entries in the young adult book series.

Sources close to the deal say that Lawrence (next to appear on-screen in the horror film "The House At The End Of The Street") is close to finishing up negotiations for her huge payday. She earned $500,000 on the first film, along with bonuses for box office performance. As the film did incredibly well, one imagines that bonus was particularly high.

During the success of the first film, the producers began re-negotiating contracts with the stars of the film, which is a tactic used during the early days of the "Twilight" saga, with actors receiving higher pay as a result of the film doing well. Co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are to receive bonuses, as well, however; as Lawrence is the star of the franchise, her payday is considerably higher.

The first film was the story of a young girl who engages in a brutal battle for survival with other youngsters in a dystopian futuristic society. In this society, areas of the country are broken up into "districts," with some districts given more money for resources and development than others, depending on how well the participant in the Hunger Games is doing.

"Catching Fire," the sequel, is set to begin shooting in September, with "I Am Legend" director Francis Lawrence (no relation to the star) replacing Gary Ross, the director of the original film. Lionsgate is looking to release the film on Nov. 22, 2013.
