Monday, Aug. 13, marks the 30th anniversary to the date when "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" hit theaters.

The 1982 coming-to-age film about a group of teenagers growing up in California is a cult classic, loved by many, even 30 years after it was released. "Fast Times," as it is frequently nicknamed, was written by Cameron Crowe and adapted for the big screen from his book of the same name based on his real life experiences in a California high school. Directed by Amy Heckerling, the film starred Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold and Phoebe Cates, who captured the hearts of many as the "girl-next-door" type character.

"Fast Times" ranked number three at the box office in 1982, grossing over $3 million domestically during its opening weekend. Since its release, the rated-R film went on to hold a spot in the weekend top 10 164 times consecutively and has earned a domestic $27,092,880 over its lifetime, according to Box Office Mojo.

But where is the cast now?

Sean Penn, who played surfer slacker Jeff Spicoli, has moved onto acting and directing in films like 2007's "Into The Wild," which was nominated for countless awards.

Jennifer Jason Leigh may have been immortalized by her role as Stacy Hamilton, and most recently announced her role in ABC's upcoming series, "Revenge," as Emily VanCamp's mother.

Judge Reinhold, otherwise known as Brad Hamilton, went on to become best known for Eddie Murphy's "Beverly Hills Cop," as detective Billy Rosewood and has appeared in over 60 films.

As Linda Barrett, with her infamous red bikini pool scene, Phoebe Cates went on to star in several movies and television series, as well as a stint on Broadway, before retiring in the mid-90's to raise a family.
