Michonne, The Governor and Milton...oh my! AMC's "The Walking Dead" may have lost quite a few survivors in season two, but season three will amp the numbers back with a completely brand new character.

You haven't spotted him on screen, in the comics or in the new season teasers. Milton is a completely original character that will be joining Rick and the gang on screen in season three, reports Entertainment Weekly. Milton, who will be played by "Rubicon" star Dallas Roberts, is one of the residents of Woodbury, the town run by the Governor.

"Milton is the details guy," "Walking Dead" executive producer Robert Kirkman teased of the new character. "He's the guy that works with the Governor, who is monitoring all situations and is trying to help the Governor make sense of this world they're living in. He's not exactly a scientist, but he's a smart guy that is trying to find out how zombies behave. Watching him do his little experiments is going to be a lot of fun."

The new character will add some "heart and humanity" to Woodbury, a place which has invoked fear in those who have read the comics or seen the teaser trailers for season three. "That is a real town with real people and real survivors," showrunner Glen Mazzara said of Woodbury. "It's not necessarily a group of bad guys."

Since Milton will be working closely with the Governor, it's possible that he will also be close with Merle, who from pictures appears to be the Governor's right hand...I mean left hand man.

When Rick's group of survivors (including Merle's brother, Daryl), come face to face with the Governor and Merle, problems are bound to ensue. Will new character Milton harm someone in the group (like pregnant Lori) with his little experiments, or will he have "heart and humanity" like Mazzara said?

"The Walking Dead" season three premieres on Oct. 14 on AMC.

What do you think of the new addition to season three of "The Walking Dead?"
