While attendees complained about the scorching hot venue at Farley Post Office in Midtown Manhattan, it was all worth it to see designers Marcus Wainright and David Neville debut the Spring 2013 collection for Rag & Bone. The designers known for their minimalist downtown flare were inspired by racing, specifically on the Paris Dakar Rally, as well as a hint of saloon-like tailoring. In their notes shared with Women's Wear Daily, the designer duo cited, "English tailoring meets Paris Dakar Rally meets British North Africa." The collection was heavy on layering with cropped leather vests emanating motocross and voluminous trenches and hoods of different fabric thickness mostly in subdued white and black and some tans thrown in with hues of red and blue. Textiles ranged from chambray to leather to peek-a-boo lace for a girly finish with oversized silhouettes. Models like Karlie Kloss, who closed the show in a coral ripstop poncho for the finale as well Candice Swanepoel, walked to the tune of Radiohead Thom Yorke on deck. Those in attendance included Anna Wintour, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Christy Turlington and Hailee Steinfeld, to name a few.
