Apple revamps entire iPod lineup

Apple Inc on Wednesday revamped its entire iPod lineup, which was called "biggest change in the iPod lineup ever" by CEO Steve Jobs.

At the music event held in San Francisco, Jobs unveiled new designs for every model of its popular media player, all of  which will be available next week, and are ready for pre-order today.

Apple has, for example, added playlists, buttons, navigation of the volume to  the iPod shuffle, which is smaller than the previous model. Along with up to 15 hours of battery life,the iPod shuffle, now available in five colors,  is priced at $49.

For the iPod Touch, Apple has added a front-facing camera, FaceTime, retina display  and iOS 4.1 with Game Center. The three models of new iPod touch are priced at $229 for 8GB version, $299 for 32GB version and $399 for 64GB version.

The iPod nano, which comes smaller and lighter,  now includes a multi-touch and a clip for easy portability, a hard volume button, voice over, FM radio, and support for 29 languages.

The new iPod nano, offered in seven colors, is priced at $148 for the 8GB version and $179 for the 16GB version.
