Three dimensional televisions, tablet PCs, e-readers and various tech gadgets are all set to dazzle and beckon the visitors at the Europe's largest consumer electronics trade fair IFA in Berlin that opens its doors on Friday.
This year's IFA trade fair in Berlin has generated a lot of curiosity among the visitors for the range of tablet PCs, smartphones and 3D TVs that are likely to be launched and showcased, giving an opportunity for all to take a first look at them.
Pocketbook will unveil 4 new e-ink devices and an Android tablet with a 7-inch display. The new e-book readers are Pocketbook Pro 602, Pocketbook Pro 902, the Pro 603 and Pro 903 models, while the slate will bear the name of Pocketbook IQ.
Samsung and Toshiba are expected to show off the tablet versions of their PCs to challenge Apple's iPad. While Samsung will unveil Galaxy Tab, Toshiba will launch its SmartPad.

Sony Corp, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics and Panasonic among others are expected to showcase their 3D TVs at the fair.
IFA had included washers, dryers, stoves and other household appliances in 2008 but the main attraction at the fair continue to be TVs, mobile devices and other tech gadgets.
With all these gadgets, the 50th edition of IFA trade fair promises to attract industry captains from all over the world and serve as a global information and business platform.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will officially declare the trade show open on Thursday evening.
Traditionally, the IFA trade fair, which is one of the world’s oldest consumer electronics trade fair, is an indication for orders as exhibitors negotiate contracts with retailers for the coming months and the year-end holiday season. The order volume in 2009 was more than 3 billion euros.
Going by the forecasts and the bookings, the 2010 edition of the trade fair is expected to surpass the number of exhibitors in 2008 when 1,245 companies and associations put up stalls as the organisers have put up an additional hall to accommodate participants this year.
German industry association, which is organizing the trade show that runs through September 8, is confident of generating sales of at least 25 billion euros this year from consumer electronics, up from last year’s 24.3 billion euros, reports say.
German tech industry association Bitkom raised its outlook for television sales in Europe’s biggest economy Germany this year to 9.6 million sets and a 11 percent jump in revenue to 6.6 billion euros compared with 2009.
Germany has sold about 40,000 3D TV sets so far this year, according to consumer research firm GfK. World’s TV market is estimated at 228 million sets.
Around 4.2 million 3D TVs are expected to be sold in 2010 or about 2 percent of all LCD TVs, according to technology research firm iSuppli. It expects the figure to rise to 78 million in 2015.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt will deliver the valedictory address on September 7.
