Silver fixes lower, gold steady in Europe

Silver fixes at 1,986.00 cents, above its previous fix of 1,966.00 cents.

 * Spot silver XAG= bid at $19.85 an ounce at 1107 GMT against
$19.87 late in New York on Friday.
* Forward rates on Reuters pages SIFO indicated at 0.62,
0.62, 0.63, 0.64 and 0.65 percent for one, two, three, six and
12 months respectively.
* Gold XAU= bid at $1,249.05 an ounce against $1,248.04.
* Bullion holds steady near $1,250 an ounce as expectations for
a rise in physical demand going into the fourth quarter supports
prices, but with gains limited by a recovery in risk appetite.
* Platinum XPT= bid at $1,560.30 an ounce against $1,553.40.
* Palladium XPD= bid at $526 an ounce against $526.68.
