Bombay Stock Exchange gains 0.4 percent

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gained 73.50 points, in the morning on Wednesday.

At 9.27 a.m., the 30-share index moved up by 73.50 points or 0.37 percent in opening trade to 20,039.43 points with 22 components advancing and 8 components declined. The BSE index has seen a high of 20,105.54 and a low of 20,039.71. Currently, it stands at 20,075.05 points. Leading the gainers are consumer durable stocks, auto, healthcare and metals. However, IT, telecom and entertainment and realty were weaker.

The 50-share index National Stock Exchange's Nifty also moved up by 13.00 points to 6,022.05, an increase of 0.22 percent. The NSE index has seen a high of 6,037.40 and a low of 6,008.40.

On the BSE, the top gainers are Maruti, Tata Steel, Mahindra and Mahindra, ITC, Wipro, HDFC, Sterlite Industries, Jaiprakash Associates, ACC, Reliance Infrastructure, Jindal Steel, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Tata Power, Tata Motors, State Bank of India, Reliance Communications, Relinace Industries, BHEL, NTPC, Hindustan Uniliver, Cipla and DLF.

On the BSE, the top losers are Hero Honda, Infosys, TCS, L&T, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.

The BSE’s Midcap Index gained 0.46 percent to 8,0982.66 and Smallcap Index rose 0.52 percent to 10,196.27. Bank Nifty Index gained 0.22 percent and CNX IT down 0.60 percent.
