Rumors about Hollywood star couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore's split have been flooding the Internet for quite a few days. Now, however, it seems that Kutcher has had enough. He is hitting back, using Twitter.

The actor, who recently replaced Charlie Sheen as the star of television's Two and a Half Men, tweeted: When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME. It is believed that he is talking about the rumors.

Reports say Moore is dumping Kutcher, her husband of six years, because he hooked up with 23-year-old Sara Leal. Kutcher, 33, is 15 years younger than Moore.

What added fuel to the fire were reports stating that Moore and Kutcher spent their sixth anniversary separately.

In response to Kutcher's tweet on the eve of their anniversary, Moore replied on a social networking site: When we are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself and study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger. However, there doesn't seem to be too many clues about the actress's state of mind or what she meant by that message.

TheDirty.com reported that Leal was demanding $250,000 from various media outlets for details of her alleged affair, even though what she really wanted was a payoff from Kutcher, a parting bribe of sorts.

Leal has reportedly hired a Hollywood attorney and has gone into hiding.

Kutcher married Moore, the ex-wife of actor Bruce Wills, in 2005. Reports of Ashton Kutcher's extramarital flings are nothing new, though he always denied them in the past. The 33-year-old actor's brief affair with Brittany Jones, 21, whom he allegedly met at a Los Angeles area bowling alley, emerged in 2010, although it didn't exactly rock his marriage with Demi Moore.
