If new reports are to be believed, the main protagonist of the Assassin’s Creed series, Desmond Miles, could end up stealing the show in Ubisoft’s upcoming game “Assassin’s Creed 3.” This means that when the game arrives later this year, although the face of the game will be Connor Kenway (or Ratohnhake:ton), Desmond will have a major role to play as well.

All I can say about Desmond's story is you're going to experience more Desmond than you've ever had before. We're spending more time on the present than we have in past games,” lead writer Matt Turner told CVG in an interview.

However, Turner was careful not to spill any more beans about the game before its final release later in October. He was not willing to say anything related to Desmond’s role in the game, but added that Desmond actually constitutes a bigger part of the story and that he really didn’t want to part with too many details about the game as he wants gamers to actually experience what it is. But he was certain that gamers will see more of Desmond than they did before.

Nonetheless, it makes sense as the entire Assassin's Creed series has been building up to a major in-game event scheduled for 2012, it is only normal that the assassin living in that era would receive major screen time. Gaming website Gamesradar has even predicted that the ending of “Assassin’s Creed 3” will see players' awakening from a future Animus after reliving Desmond's final moments. However, they also added that it is “absolutely based on nothing.”

Assassin’s Creed is set to arrive for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on Oct. 30 in North America and Oct. 31 in the UK. To know more about what we know thus far about the game, check the links below.
