ASUS took to their Facebook blog to remind their customers that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update is coming to the Transformer TF101 tablet in February, but the exact date is yet to be announced.

ASUS recently launched an Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for its latest Eee Pad Transformer Prime, and it will do the same for the first generation of its tablet.

Morning all. Hope everyone had a good weekend? To update you on the ... update situations. The TF101 ICS update is still expected in February - exact date is not available to us at the moment. As always, when we have a specific date we will let you know, the Taiwanese company wrote on their blog.

Excited to hear that IC Sandwich is coming to my original Transformer TF 101 in February. Really enjoy this device, and when my dock went bad ASUS customer service was very easy to deal with and I had a repaired unit within 2 weeks despite living outside the 48 US states in the Virgin Islands! My experience with this tablet makes me want to look at Asus for other products such as laptops ... Sean Cullian said in response to the news on the Facebook page.

ASUS launched its first generation of Eee Pad Transformer tablet in April last year. The product has surpassed over 400,000 shipments per month, making it the second-best-selling tablet after the iPad, according to Fudzilla.com.

ASUS released its new Eee Pad tablet in December last year, heralding the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and quickly becoming the most pre-ordered tablet of the year, according to PC World and Currys. The Eee Pad Transformer Prime received some criticism for late shipments and poor GPS performance, but most problems have been addressed by ASUS since they were reported.

The company also took the opportunity to unveil the next generation of the tablet during this year's CES event in Las Vegas. The Transformer Prime TF700T blew away ASUS enthusiasts with its 1920x1200 resolution that beats most laptops. The new TF700T resolution doubles that of its predecessor, which came with 1,280x800-pixels.

The new model also comes with an upgraded 2-megapixel camera that can be used for HD video chat. Most of the tablet's glitches have been addressed, changing its back-panel design to increase the performance of GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The TF700T is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2012, priced at $600 for 32GB and $700 for 64GB, CNET reported from CES in Las Vegas. This could infuriate ASUS customers who only just purchased the Eee pad Transformer Prime with all its glitches.
