The Asus ZenFone Zoom smartphone is now available for purchase in the U.S. Asus

The Asus ZenFone Zoom that comes with 3X optical zoom feature for its 13-megapixel camera is now available for purchase in the U.S. The smartphone was introduced last year in January.

According to Phone Arena, after the ZenFone Zoom smartphone was announced in January 2015, it was made available for purchase in Taiwan by December. And now the smartphone has been officially made available in the U.S. The unlocked edition of Asus ZenFone Zoom Is listed on B&H Photo with a price tag of $399.

The unlocked smartphone that measures 11.95 mm in thickness and weighs 185 grams is advertised as the slimmest smartphone with 3x optical zoom. The ZenFone Zoom carriers support for LTE connectivity. However, the unlocked smartphone can be only used on AT&T and T-Mobile networks in the U.S. IT won’t support CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint.

The ZenFone Zoom features a 5.5-inch display that offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 protection layer. It is powered by Intel Atom Z3590 chipset that includes a quad-core processor that clocks at 2.5 GHz and a PowerVR G6430 graphics. The chipset is supported by 4 GB of RAM.

The smartphone comes in multiple storage versions such as 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. On its external storage, the ZenFone Zoom supports up to 128 GB of microSD card. It comes preinstalled with Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, it is likely to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the near future.

The 13-megapixel camera of the Asus ZenFone Zoom is coupled with 3x optical zoom feature. It supports features like laser autofocus, OIS and dual-LED flash. On the front, it houses a 5-megapixel camera.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom boasts a premium appeal as it comes with a leather back and is fitted with an aluminum frame along its edges. The smartphone is packed with a huge battery of 3000 mAh capacity.
