AT&T signed a two-year $6 million contract for providing U.S. Airways with wireless and wire line services for its cargo tracking operations as well as internal support of the airline's employees.

The Airline will use AT&T's wireless network to track the cargo it ships using hand held barcode scanners connected to AT&T's wireless network. The tracker will provide data on shipments as well as scanning incoming packages.

The wireless network provided by AT&T will also be used by U.S. Airways internal business processes, like providing employees with access to the Internet and the company's email system via BlackBerry smartphones including voice services and international business travel.

The agreement allows the airline to expand its relationship with AT&T which has for a long time been providing it with voice and internet protocol data services.
