Bankers, beware. That's the message Attorney General Eric Holder is sending with his plans to launch wide-ranging mortgage fraud cases against some of the nation's biggest banks using the recent success against JPMorgan Chase as a prosecution model, according to a report published Wednesday.

In an interview with Holder, Reuters reported that the attorney general said, "We have a number of investigations that are coming to a head at the same time," he said. "It is my hope that the next round of these cases will be filed soon after the new year."

Holder did not identify the banks involved in the planned prosecutions but did say that his department and the firms are talking, according to the report.
