German automobile manufacturer, Audi, has won top honors in the Midsize/Luxury Class category, for its Audi A6, at the 2011 Golden Steering Wheel awards. The company also secured second place, with the Audi A3 TCNG.

Since its inception in 1975, the coveted award has been given to the best new car models launched every year. Previous winners from Audi's stables include the Q7 (2005), the A4 sedan (2007), the Q5 (2008), the A5 sportback (2009) and the A1 and A8 (2010).

The jury for this year's event was populated by technical experts and professional motor racing and rally drivers.

Apparently, the business sedan from Ingolstadt was able to win over the 42-strong jury and claim the award by a clear margin.

Rupert Stadler, the Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi AG, accepted the award.
