RTTNews - In Australia, the value of construction work done declined a seasonally adjusted 3.7% sequentially in the March quarter, after a revised 2.3% rise in the December quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday.

During the first quarter, the value of building work done declined 4.4%, while the value of residential and non-residential construction work dropped 6% and 2.1% respectively. Engineering construction fell 3% in this period.

Year-on-year, the construction work rose 3.5% in the first quarter, mainly due to a 10.1% rise in engineering construction.
