RTTNews - Total job advertisements in Australia were down 1.7 percent in July compared to the previous month, ANZ Bank said on Monday, falling to a weekly average of 125,207 per week. Down for the 15th consecutive month, the decline follows the 6.7 percent monthly contraction in June.

Internet job ads were down 1.8 percent on month to an average of 117,046 per week, the data showed, and were 52.1 percent lower than 12 months earlier.

Newspaper job ads were off 0.4 percent on month to an average of 8,162 per week, and now are 48.4 percent lower than a year earlier.

On an annual basis, total job ads were down 51.9 percent.

Job advertisements are showing tentative signs of stabilization, the bank said, which implies that business is no longer cutting back hiring intentions at the same pace.
