Australia July Skilled Vacancies Down 1.7% Vs. June

RTTNews - The number of job vacancies for skilled workers in Australia decreased in July by 1.7 percent compared to June, according to the latest index produced by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).

The index stands at 35.5, a reading 60.0 percent lower than for the same period one year earlier.

DEWR said decreases were seen in 14 of 18 occupational groups on the index.

The strongest drops were in the organization and information professionals category, which was down 13.3 percent.

Vacancies for building and engineering professionals were down by 11.1 percent.
