RTTNews - Australia's merchandise imports declined by a seasonally adjusted A$14 million in June compared to May, according to data published Thursday by the Australia Bureau of Statistics.

The Bureau said preliminary analysis shows imports totaled A$16.28 billion in June, compared to A$16.29 billion in May.

Machinery and transport related imports made up the largest portion of the total, valued at A$6.29 billion in unadjusted terms.

Imports of non-monetary gold were down 45 percent and imports of other goods declined 48 percent.
