RTTNews - Tuesday, a report released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics said new vehicle sales grew a seasonally adjusted 5.7% month-on-month in June, after a 5.4% rise in the preceding month. New vehicle sales totaled 80,330 in June.

On a monthly basis, sales of all types of vehicles increased, with the fastest growth of 18.3% seen in other vehicles. Sale of sports utility vehicles rose 3.2%, while passenger vehicles sales were up 1.6%.

Among the regions, the Australian Capital Territory showed the biggest rise in sales, by 12.7%, followed by a 7.7% rise in Queensland. However, sales dropped 2.1% in Northern Territory.

Meanwhile, new motor vehicle sales declined 7.2% year-on-year in June, after falling 12.6% in the previous month.
