RTTNews - Tuesday, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said the net operating balance of the general government sector showed a deficit of A$7.7 billion in the March quarter, higher than the deficit of A$3.2 billion in the December quarter.

Total revenues decreased 9.5% on a quarterly basis in the first quarter to A$97.5 billion, while the total expenses dropped 5.1% to A$105.3 billion.

Meanwhile, the net borrowings of the general government increased to A$11.1 billion in the first quarter from A$6.8 billion in the fourth quarter.
