Tuesday, the Statistics Austria said in a report that the trade deficit stood at EUR 0.72 billion in the January to February period, down from EUR 0.31 billion surplus in the preceding year.

During the period, exports dropped 25% year-on-year to EUR 14.83 billion, while imports declined 20.1% to EUR 15.55 billion.

In February, the trade deficit amounted to EUR 0.26 billion, compared to the EUR 0.074 billion surplus in the previous year. At the same time, exports and imports decreased by 23.8% and 20.7%, respectively.
