Plum Organics is recalling its apple-and-carrot flavored baby food over fears of botulism contamination.

The product did not meet the FDA guidelines, the company said in a released statement Monday evening.

The California-based firm said no illnesses have been reported in connection with the product. Botulism is a serious and sometimes life-threatening illness, the company noted.

Symptoms of botulism include general weakness, dizziness, double-vision and trouble with speaking or swallowing.
