Juan Pablo’s aventura on “The Bachelor” is heating up – which means hearts are breaking and viewers are getting involved!

In episode 5, fans of the ABC dating show watched as Juan Pablo went on three romantic dates in Vietnam. And while there is bound to be drama with 11 girls fighting over one guy, no one expected Juan Pablo to be the root of the latest tear-fest.

The most dramatic (and overall OMG) moment of the entire “Bachelor” season came after Juan Pablo’s group date, when Clare decided to pay the single dad a visit at his hotel room … at 4 a.m. She asked him to take a swim in the ocean with her, and Juan Pablo quickly stripped off his shirt and ran after the 32-year-old hairstylist. Clare eagerly told the cameras afterwards that the two “just went for it” and that she didn’t regret it because it was “pure bliss … in every way.”

“Bachelor” fans immediately began to speculate that Clare and Juan Pablo’s late-night swim was more than the cameras showed, and their creative minds were fueled by Clare’s toast at the Rose Ceremony: “To finding love, being loved and making love.”

And while the other girls just rolled their eyes at their competition, Juan Pablo ended up pulling Clare aside before the Rose Ceremony to tell her that he had made a mistake. Needless to say, Clare was not happy with Juan Pablo’s bombshell.

Tearing up, Clare stood by her actions – and ended up gaining a whole lot of support in the “Bachelor” fan base.

“There was no misunderstanding,” she explained to the cameras. “He was on board with everything. It’s confusing, and I don’t know where we go from here.”

And while Clare stands by what happened, Juan Pablo’s standing by his decision to call his time with Clare a “mistake.”

In his blog for People.com, Juan Pablo didn’t go into detail about what exactly happened in the ocean with the contestant. Instead he explained that he didn’t want to reject her when she came to his hotel room because “she was so happy.” So, why did he confront her at the Rose Ceremony?

“I didn’t think it was a good example for my daughter to watch daddy going into the ocean with a girl at night,” Juan Pablo explained in his post.

Besides his daughter, the bachelor added that he also felt guilt over giving Clare more time than the other girls. “Honesty, my mistake,” he continued.

As we previously reported, “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison didn’t agree with Juan Pablo’s choice to confront Clare at the Rose Ceremony and call their 4 a.m. rendezvous a mistake.

“When she showed up, he was fully into it, like this is awesome and sexy and she was as happy as can be and then he turns around and treats her like all of a sudden she did something wrong and broke the rules,” Harrison dished to TV Guide after the explosive episode. “It was not only confusing, but it was borderline rude. We even told him as much, but he didn’t see it that way. Even though he apologized later, I don’t think he really understood how cheap he made her feel.”

But according to Juan Pablo, he personally likes to address things “very quickly and straightforward” and didn’t want to wait a couple days for Clare to hear his thoughts. “I thought it was better to tell her with a rose in her hand than later when she did not have a rose,” Juan Pablo wrote in his blog.

Twitter users immediately began to take sides in the matter, many posting #TeamClare in support of the contestant. And Juan Pablo took to the social media site to seemingly tweet about the backlash:
