The claws were out in episode 3 of “The Bachelor.” Monday's episode started off with 15 women in the running for Juan Pablo’s heart, but as the third rose ceremony loomed before them, the bachelorettes became a little emotional and catty toward their fellow contestants.

For those that missed this week’s episode, Juan Pablo went on three dates – a one-on-one date with Cassandra, a group date to the L.A. Galaxy soccer field, and a one-on-one date with Chelsie. And while his dates started off well with a low-key duck boat ride and homemade dinner with Cassandra, things quickly got out of control (and a little steamy).

The drama began during the group date after-party when Andi and Juan Pablo shared a hot (and secret) kiss in the kitchen of a concession stand. The 26-year-old assistant district attorney thought that she shared something special with the bachelor, which made her that much more upset when she watched Juan Pablo have a public makeout session with Sharleen in the middle of the soccer field.

None of the girls appreciated Juan Pablo’s public displays of affection toward Sharleen, but the big shocker of the evening came when he handed out his group date rose. Neither Andi or Sharleen, whose kisses with Juan Pablo were caught on camera, received the rose – instead it was given to Nikki, who used her one-on-one time with the bachelor to express her fears of getting hurt.

Both Andi and Sharleen believed they had a strong connection with Juan Pablo and were shocked when they didn’t get the rose.

“Are you serious?” Sharleen told the cameras. “I don’t have that much confidence in where I stand.”

Andi had similar feelings, explaining to the cameras that she’s now doubting whether he’s “feeling it” or if she wasn’t good enough.

But that’s not how Juan Pablo explained it to TV Guide. The 32-year-old single dad told the site that it’s “tough” kissing one contestant in front of the others. “You get caught up in the moment, and at this point they feel rejected if it doesn’t go the way they want it to,” he explained. “But in the middle of a soccer field, are you kidding me? I was like, ‘I have to do this.’ Obviously some girls are going to see, but they know what they’re getting into. It’s all part of it.”

Juan Pablo’s steamy midfield kiss wasn’t the only thing to get the ladies jealous. The cocktail party-turned-pool party led to some pretty nasty name-calling and tears.

Kat took the “every woman for herself” angle and spent the party on top of Juan Pablo’s shoulders or following him around. Her bold actions led Kelly to sassily tell the cameras that Juan Pablo’s head was in Kat’s crotch for 20 minutes, and that Kat needs to be more considerate of the other women because she looks like a “whore.”

The tears began when Sharleen used her one-on-one time to smooch Juan Pablo again … in front of the others. While Sharleen enjoyed her moment, her actions got Clare so upset that she fled the party to cry upstairs in her room. Eventually Clare managed to calm down with the help of Renee, and sought out one-on-one time to tell Juan Pablo how she was feeling. The 32-year-old hair stylist explained that she was struggling with the fact that they shared a romantic first date and that she had to wait so long to see him again. And while Juan Pablo consoled her and handed her a rose at the end of the episode, he told TV Guide that he’s “very clear with all of them.”

“They know what they’re getting into,” Juan Pablo dished. “It’s something I can’t control. I try to be as fair as possible and get to know them as much as I can, but in this situation, there is going to be hurt. Clare had the lucky first one-on-one date, and she now has to wait.”
