Who is the next star of “The Bachelorette”? Fans of the ABC dating show are dying to find out, but the answer has yet to be revealed. Those who tuned in for Chris Soules’ season of “The Bachelor” have voiced their opinions on Twitter, and now the bachelor himself is jumping in on which former contestant should land the gig.

Can you guess who Chris is voting for? It’s none other than Kaitlyn, the 29-year-old dance instructor from Vancouver who he eliminated after the fantasy suite. Kaitlyn was the latest contestant to get sent home during episode 9 on Monday. She survived hometown dates and made it into the final three, only to get her heart broken by the 33-year-old Iowa farmer in the last few minutes of the episode. Kaitlyn could barely look Chris in the eye, but she did manage to ask Chris one thing: “What happened?”

Chris revealed in his People “Bachelor” blog that saying goodbye to Kaitlyn was “physically painful.”

“I could feel the sadness in her eyes, and, trust me, I was really hurting too,” he explained of the situation. When she asked me, ‘What happened?’ I really didn’t know what to say because it wasn’t one thing that ‘happened.’ It was simply that I had to make a decision that I honestly wasn’t ready to make, and I had to go with my gut.”

Kaitlyn left in tears, but there could be a silver lining to her break up with Chris – starring on “The Bachelorette.” The contestant already expressed her interest in the position in an interview with Popsugar.

“I would be excited [to be the bachelorette] because I did see how if you have the opportunity and you let those guards down and you do let yourself have those feelings, you can find love in the most mysterious way,” she confessed.

And Chris agrees. While speaking with E! News, the bachelor revealed that he thinks his ex has the right stuff to become the next “Bachelorette.”

“I think she’s got the right type of energy,” he explained. “She’s funny, she can be entertaining and she’s beautiful. She’s at the point in her life that she’s really serious about finding love. I think that’s important. When you’re on this, you don’t want somebody there who wants more notoriety. You want someone who’s really sincere.”
