“Bachelorette” fans may be happy that Desiree found love … but they are also sad that the season came to an end. Fortunately the new “Bachelor” for the January 2014 season was revealed during the "After The Rose" special.

Who is the lucky guy that Desiree dumped? It’s none other than the “handsome, charismatic and funny” … Juan Pablo!

Juan Pablo had female “Bachelorette” viewers in a tizzy all season … but the Juan Pablo craze really became insane during the “Men Tell All” episode. As “Bachelorette” host Chris Harrison explained, “No guy has made greater impact with less screen time.” But despite barely being seen on screen – the ladies really fell in love with him. The shouts from the crowd and the “I love Juan Pablo” T-shirts are evidence enough.

The new “Bachelor” grew up in Venezuela but was born in New York. After playing professional soccer overseas, his life changed when he moved to Miami and found out that his girlfriend, Carla was pregnant. On Feb. 13, 2009, Juan Pablo’s daughter Camilla was born. He stayed together with his baby momma for two years, but Juan Pablo explained to the cameras that things just didn’t work out between the two. “Great woman, great mom, great friend,” he said of Carla.

Camilla, who is now four years old, is Juan Pablo’s little princess … and the single 32-year-old dad is ready to be a parent to more kids. However he does acknowledge that it’s difficult to be a single parent and have a relationship with somebody.

Who is Juan Pablo’s “ideal woman?” The former soccer star revealed during this season of “The Bachelorette” that the lucky lady must love his daughter and be a good dancer.

“I am confident I will definitely find my future wife and stepmom for Camilla,” Juan Pablo said of his role as the new “Bachelor. “And I’m ready for it.”

The announcement of Juan Pablo’s new gig came not only on the day of the season finale of “The Bachelorette” … but on his birthday, Aug. 5.
