It happened … Nick Viall joined Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of “The Bachelorette.” The 34-year-old software sales executive from Waukesha, Wisconsin made waves on the ABC reality show last year as the runner up on Andi Dorfman’s season. Although he started off sweet and shy, the contestant soon became one of the most controversial and hated cast members in “The Bachelor” franchise. Now he’s back for Season 11.

“The Bachelorette” viewers knew that Nick would be attempting to join Kaitlyn’s season thanks to a special preview of the entire season. However, he didn’t appear on screen until Monday night in episode 4. While Kaitlyn was in New York City on a group date, Nick crashed the public event to see her. Kaitlyn confirmed to the cameras that she began talking to Nick on Twitter while she was on “The Bachelor” with Chris Soules. She admitted that they seemed to have a connection online, but never met in person. Nick confessed that the thought of her getting engaged to another man when they never got the chance to meet upset him – so he decided to do something about it.

The 29-year-old star knew that the decision to let him join the other contestants was in her hands, and deeply struggled with it throughout a majority of episode 4. While she knew that she had a great group of guys on her hands and didn’t want to rock the boat, she also feared letting Nick go. Ultimately she decided to let Nick move in with the other men … a decision that didn’t sit well with the remaining guys.

The contestants were upset with Kaitlyn’s decision because of multiple factors. A big one was that many of them had formed relationships with her, and feared that she didn’t share the same connection. But the major issue was due to Nick’s exit on “The Bachelor.” Those who watched the “After the Final Rose” special will remember that Nick exposed his sexual history with Andi to the world. The guys didn’t feel like that was appropriate, and began to question Kaitlyn for being interested in a man who could do such a thing to a woman he supposedly loved. They also feared that Nick wasn’t really interested in Kaitlyn, but instead joined to continue to chase fame.

What’s the truth – Is Nick a good guy who is really interested in Kaitlyn? Or is this a fame-seeking move? Only time will tell. Take the poll to cast your vote about whether Kaitlyn did the right thing by letting Nick Viall join Season 11 of “The Bachelorette”:
