Nick Viall has finally moved in with the Season 11 “The Bachelorette” contestants … and the other guys are NOT happy about it. After some deep thinking in episode 4, star Kaitlyn Bristowe decided to follow her heart and allow Nick, a contestant from Andi Dorfman’s season of “The Bachelorette,” to join the show. Now Kaitlyn is beginning to see that adding Nick to her roster of sexy, single men might have been a big mistake.

Episode 5 kicks off with Nick entering the New York suite that the men are staying at. While he enters the room with a cheery demeanor, the guys couldn’t be any colder to the alum. They immediately begin grilling him, asking him about his “intentions” and if he was just there to extend his “15 minutes of fame.”

Tanner and Joshua are the two that seem really concerned with the addition of Nick, and Tanner flat out asks him about tabloid reports that he was hanging out with his ex, Andi. Nick admits that he did see Andi in recent weeks, but not to rekindle a romance. Instead he explains that they buried the hatch. (Based on Andi’s tweet about Nick last week that could be up for debate.)

And although Tanner and Joshua are the only two really “grilling” Nick, it’s silent Shawn B. who appears to be the most troubled by the alum. He tells the camera that Kaitlyn’s decision has really caused him to take a step back and put his guard back up.

With the pre-rose ceremony cocktail party at Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets, many of the guys use their alone time with Kaitlyn to talk about their relationships. But Joshua, Tanner and Shawn use their time to talk about Nick. Tanner admits that he grilled him, while Joshua tells her that Nick’s addition does not sit well with him. Meanwhile, Shawn confesses that his guard is going back up. After developing such a strong connection with Shawn, Kaitlyn’s shocked.

“I’ve told you from day one how strong I feel about our connection,” she tells him. “This is not taking away from that.”

As if the tension wasn’t high enough, Kaitlyn still has to go through with a rose ceremony. Counting Nick, 15 guys are still in the competition ahead of the elimination. Out of those 15, three already have roses from earlier dates – Justin, Jared and Chris “Cupcake.” Ben H. lands the first rose, followed by Ben Z., Shawn, Tanner, Joe, Ian, JJ and Joshua. Nick lands the final rose, eliminating Corey, Jonathan and Ryan B.

Following the rose ceremony, everyone packs their bags for San Antonio, Texas.

First One-On-One Date

Ben H. gets the first one-on-one date of episode 5. The pair visits the oldest dance hall in Texas … where they enter a two-step competition! While they meet with a professional to learn the moves, they can’t compete with couples who have been doing the two-step for years. Although they make it past the first round, they get eliminated shortly after – but that doesn’t stop them from having fun! Ben H. tells the cameras that he feels like he won anyway with Kaitlyn on his arm.

The couple moves their date to a romantic dinner, where Kaitlyn asks Ben H. to open up about his past relationships. Ben H. admits that his last serious relationship was long distance, and that it ended because his ex believed that he “lost the chase.” He adds that his life was centered around that relationship, which made it that much more difficult to accept. Kaitlyn appreciates him opening up, and rewards him with a rose.

Group Date

Joshua, Tanner, Justin, Joe, JJ, Jared, Ian, Chris “Cupcake,” Ben Z. and Nick meet Kaitlyn for the episode 5 group date. Sebastien El Charro de Oro, a 13-year-old superstar Mariachi singer, performs for the bachelorette … and tells the guys that now it’s up to them to take back her heart! They each write songs for Kaitlyn and perform them in front of a crowd … and of course, everyone embarrasses themselves. However, Nick does it with style.

“We have such a good connection, it gives me such a huge erection,” he sings to her.

Even the guys have to admit that Nick completely “owned it” when others felt embarrassed by the date. But unfortunately things went downhill from there. In order to make a connection with Kaitlyn, Joshua put all his trust – and an electric razor – in her hands. He tells her to give him a mohawk, but the buzzer dies halfway through the haircut. And the rest of the night died shortly after that.

After getting worked up about Nick, Joshua pulls Kaitlyn aside again for some one-on-one time. Except this time it’s not light-hearted and fun. He tells Kaitlyn that something just “doesn’t sit right” with him about Nick, and that no one in the house likes him. He continues that Nick won’t stop talking about his time on Andi Dorfman’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and that he thinks he’s there for all the wrong reasons. Kaitlyn listens to Joshua, and decides to confront everyone about what he said. But unfortunately for Joshua, no one comes to his defense. They all claim that they have no problem with Nick and that they just want Kaitlyn to do what she thinks is right.

Things don’t look good for Joshua, and Kaitlyn ends up rewarding Nick with the group date rose.

Second One-On-One Date

Shawn B. lands the final one-on-one date of episode 5. The two go kayaking on River Walk, and reconnect after the rough rose ceremony in New York. He promises her that he wants to be as “open, honest and truthful” as possible – and that includes talking about Joshua. He tells her that he felt bad for his fellow contestant, and that he truly believes the other guys were scared to admit the truth about Nick.

“I’m here for you,” he tells her.

After their romantic afternoon, Shawn B. feels better and more confident about their relationship. Later that night he opens up about being in a really bad car accident, and admits that he’s falling in love with her. Kaitlyn tells him that she feels the same way, and gifts him with the rose.

Pre-Rose Ceremony

Kaitlyn’s on cloud nine after her date with Shawn B., however her happiness is about to come crashing down. Ian – a “Princeton graduate, former model who has defied death and been around the world a couple times” – doesn’t feel like he’s getting the attention he deserves from the bachelorette. He tells Nick that he feels like would make a good “Bachelor” and that he’s tired of getting rejected by a girl who he thought was “the one.”

With nothing left to lose, Ian decides that he’s going to confront Kaitlyn during the cocktail party. But before he does that, he continues trash talking her to the cameras. He says that she’s not half as hot as his ex and that he has “a lot of sex” in his own personal life.

When he finally gets the chance to speak with her privately, Ian tells her that he came on the show for love … not for “poop, fart and sex jokes.” He continues that he’s a deep person and came on “The Bachelorette” to meet the girl who had her heart broken by Chris Soules … not the “girl that wanted to get her field plowed by Chris.”

“You’re still that girl,” he adds, saying that he feels like she’s just there to “make out with a bunch of dudes.”

Kaitlyn doesn’t respond to Ian’s accusations of being “shallow” … but her face says it all.
