Rachel Lindsay’s quest to find love hasn’t been easy — she was eliminated in the final rounds of “The Bachelor” Season 24 by Nick Viall — but now she knows exactly what it is she’s looking for. That knowledge will come in handy as she embarks on her journey as “The Bachelorette” in Season 13.

During an interview with ET Online, Rachel opened up about what she’s looking for in a man, revealing that race is not a factor. She told the publication that she told “Bachelorette” producers to cast men of every ethnicity and was hopeful they’d listen. Rachel does have one deal breaker, however, and that’s cockiness.

“I do not like a cocky guy. I like a confident guy,” she said. “You can toe the line just a little bit, but I cannot stand a cocky guy.”

Additionally, Rachel told ET that she’s not going to put up with drama on “The Bachelorette” in Season 13. She told the publication that she thinks her direct approach will weed out guys that are on the show for the wrong reasons, as well as petty and catty men. She added that she’ll do her best not to “feed into” chatter from contestants about house villains and the like saying, “that’s not my style.”

“I’m so direct that I won’t entertain the drama or the [pettiness] or cattiness. I’ll just deal with situations as they come to me, so if guys come to me about a villain in the house, I’ll be aware of it, my antennas will be up but I’m not going to feed into it too much,” she told ET.

Bachelor Nation got their first glimpse of Rachel as “The Bachelorette” in April. ABC released the first official photo from the upcoming season, which showed the newest star smiling over her shoulder in a red dress. The dress is designed to look like a rose, with petals floating upward from it.

Prior to the release of this promo, the fans only got access to exclusive “Bachelorette” content that came from creator/producer Mike Fleiss. Throughout the early weeks of taping, he shared several photos of the cast in the house, Rachel preparing for rose ceremonies and more. Fleiss was careful not to give too much away, however.

Onlookers have also been a great source for “Bachelorette” Season 13 spoilers. On March 23, fans learned that one of the many dates Rachel and her suitors would be going on involved a game of basketball with NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Us Weekly reported that Rachel and her dates were shooting hoops at a Southern California high school and had a great time, though the “Bachelorette” was still getting used to the process.

Rachel may have been nervous at the start of filming, but she went into Season 13 of “The Bachelorette” armed with some great advice. Previous “Bachelorette” JoJo Fletcher shared a positive message with Rachel via Extra. She told the publication that Rachel would have no trouble at all finding love, but warned that she’d have to follow her heart and avoid distraction.

“She’s a lawyer — she thinks a lot, she’s always in her head. I was gonna tell her to try not to be in her head that much but also listen to that mind of yours because you’re smart, and don’t let your heart get carried away with the looks and the lust, ‘cause it happens,” JoJo said.

Rachel’s season of “The Bachelorette” kicks off Monday, May 22 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
