The hip-hop community is mourning the loss of rapper Bankroll Fresh. The 28-year-old up-and-coming Atlanta artist (real name Trentavious White) was shot and killed Friday night in his hometown after gunfire erupted outside a recording studio.

According to the New York Daily News, police said a group of people were standing outside Street Exes studio a little after 11 p.m. when shots were fired from a moving car. Bankroll Fresh and at least one other person were hit during the shooting, the outlet reports.

A friend of the “Hot Boys” rapper put him in the car and immediately drove him to Hughes Spalding Hospital, but he died less than an hour later. TMZ reports that over a dozen shell casings were found outside the studio, and police do not have any suspects or a motive yet.

Bankroll Fresh, 28 at the time of his death, had released several mixtapes over the course of his career and collaborated with rappers like Big Sean, Juicy J, Future, Wiz Khalifa and 2 Chainz, who is also from Atlanta.
